UM-Flint fraternity takes on prescription drug problem
The University of Michigan-Flint Theta Chi Fraternity and the Genesee County Community Mental Health worked with the Genesee County Sheriff's Department and sponsored a Prescription Drug Drop Off location that netted hundreds of bottles of drugs that will be destroyed.
UM-Flint joins in helping food bank
The UM-Flint Hockey Club and their coach Bill Golling were invited to appear on WJRT TV12 morning news (March 19) show to make a check presentation to Tracy Fowler-Johnston, development manager for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Students from many campus organizations joined the "School Spirit" event and also brought food donations.
UM-Flint Housing Reaches Capacity
One year after opening, the University of Michigan-Flint First Street Residence Hall has again filled all 300 beds, according to housing officials.
Returning students moved in Tuesday, September 1, and new students came in on Wednesday.
UM-Flint receives Community Access Award
The Disability Network has selected the University of Michigan-Flint as a recipient of its Community Access Award. The Award was presented to Zachary Tomlinson, the accessibility services coordinator and Bill Webb, assistant vice chancellor for administration. Barbara Kornblau, the new dean of the School of Health Professions and Studies, who is an advocate of accessibility issues, was introduced at the award ceremony.

Michigan Times Wins Nine Michigan Press Association Awards
The student newspaper of the University of Michigan-Flint recently won nine Michigan Press Association Awards. Student journalists from across the state competed in the Michigan Press Association College Newspaper contest, giving them the chance to gain recognition for their best work.
UM-Flint Club at CGA National Championship
As the saying goes, "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas."
The University of Michigan-Flint Golf Club took that saying and stood it on end, putting in a good performance and bringing back memories to last a lifetime.
Participating in the first national championship event in school history, the linksters played admirably under adverse conditions at the Collegiate Golf Alliance National Championship Tournament in Las Vegas November 9.
What Happens in Vegas Could be the Start of a UM-Flint Tradition
The University of Michigan-Flint Golf Club has become the first athletic organization in school history to participate in a national championship athletic event. The club is headed to the Collegiate Golf Alliance's National Championship Tournament November 8-9 in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Silverstone Golf Course.
