UM-Flint Entrepreneurs Society and Habitat for Humanity To Build Third Work/Live Home
Members of UM-Flint's Entrepreneurs Society, an organization composed of School of Management students, helped Habitat for Humanity (HFH) build the first "Work/Live" house in Flint on West Fifth Street in June of 2012. Now, the society will help HFH provide a third such house in the same neighborhood.

Congressman Kildee visited the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) to get a better understanding of how it is utilized, and some of the federal grants it has received. The ECDC is the only nationally accredited birth to age 12 program in Genesee County.

School of Education and Human Services students among those honored at LGBT Center's Lavender Graduation
The University of Michigan-Flint's Ellen Bommarito LGBT Center held its first-ever Lavender Graduation on Tuesday, April 15 at the Northbank Center. The ceremony is conducted on numerous campuses to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, asexual, and ally students, and to acknowledge their achievements and contributions to the university.
UM-Flint English Language Program Receives Accreditation
The English Language Program at the University of Michigan-Flint was awarded accreditation by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) from April 2014 through April 2018.

Susan E. Borrego Appointed University of Michigan-Flint Chancellor
The University of Michigan Board of Regents today approved Susan E. Borrego as the next chancellor of UM-Flint. Borrego will begin her five-year appointment August 1, 2014.
Susan E. Borrego, Ph.D. to Be Recommended As Next Chancellor of the University of Michigan-Flint
University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman is recommending Susan E. Borrego, Ph.D., as the eighth leader of the University of Michigan-Flint. Borrego, who currently serves as the vice president for Enrollment Management, Planning, and Student Affairs at California State University, Dominguez Hills will begin her appointment August 1, 2014 pending approval by the University of Michigan Board of Regents. Inaugural festivities will be announced at a later date.
Congressman Dale Kildee Donates Papers, Artifacts to UM-Flint Library and Establishes Education Scholarship
Retired Congressman Dale. E. Kildee continues his longstanding support of the Flint community through a donation of key items from decades of work in Washington D.C. to the University of Michigan-Flint's Frances Willson Thompson Library. In addition, a scholarship honoring Kildee has been established that will benefit students aspiring to careers in education.
