UM-Flint Inauguration Celebration Gives Tribute to Campus and Community

    The 2015 Inauguration Celebration at the University of Michigan-Flint, a week-long tribute to the campus and community, begins Monday, April 13. Events are free and open to the public. The week culminates with the Investiture Ceremony of the eighth leader of UM-Flint, Chancellor Susan E. Borrego.

    A full list of the events and festivities, with further details about the week, is available at www.umflint.edu/inauguration. Some of the events include the following:

    Monday, April 13:

    Stone Street Ancestral Recovery and Repatriation Project
    Lecture by Beverley Smith, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Anthropology
    2:00 p.m., Happenings Room, Harding Mott University Center

    It's Time to Relax
    End of Semester Celebration for Students
    4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

    Co-sponsored by UM-Flint Student Government

    A Time to Serve: A Community Breakfast with Chancellor Susan E. Borrego

    Tickets can be picked up at The Whiting Box Office or the Flint Farmers' Market

    Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Cultural Center

    M-Town Celebration and Fundraiser
    7:00 – 10:00 p.m., The Riverfront Center, downtown Flint

    M-Town celebrates the inauguration, and is a fundraiser for the Chancellor's Scholars Program at UM-Flint. Tickets are $100 per person. For more information, contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at (810)424-5448.
