    The University of Michigan-Flint is offering an online/weekend master's degree program for elementary and secondary teachers ready to make the move into school administration.     An event that focuses on making a positive impact on climate change is expecting a billion people around the globe to participate, including the University of Michigan-Flint campus. Earth Hour 2009 is being billed as the largest climate event in history. On March 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m. people in hundreds of cities around the world are being asked to make a bold statement about their concern about climate change by simply turning off their lights one hour.

     
  • Gov. Granholm Helps Open Genesee Early College

    Governor Jennifer M. Granholm helped students cut the ribbon to officially open the Genesee Early College on Tuesday, September 4. The unique, new high school alternative run by the Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) opened in the William S. White Building on the campus of the University of Michigan-Flint. It is the state's first early college high school that will prepare students for health careers on the campus of a major [tier 1] university.

    The University of Michigan-Flint, for the fifth year in a row, has earned a spot among Master's Universities in "America's Best Colleges" by U.S.News & World Report in the 2008 edition, the nation's leading source of service journalism and news. The exclusive rankings will be published in the magazine's August 27 issue, on newsstands Monday, August 20.
