  • CELEBRATING CAMPUS AND COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

    The University of Michigan-Flint will showcase its many partnerships between campus and community, and celebrate work which has not before been showcased. Many of the projects will be highlighted during the Partnership Showcase to be held on October 16 at 6 p.m. in the UM-Flint Theatre.

     

  • IU Kokomo's Person Recommended as New Chancellor

    Dr. Ruth J. personRuth J. Person, Chancellor of Indiana University Kokomo, has been recommended as the seventh leader of the University of Michigan-Flint. Person, an alumna of the University of Michigan, will begin her appointment August 18, pending approval by the Board of Regents. Inaugural festivities will be announced at a later date.

     

  • From Michigan to Moscow…an International Education

    A group of University of Michigan-Flint MBA students have a better understanding of the global economy after participating in an extraordinary trip to Russia. Because of previous visits to Russia and established relationships, the 13 School of Management students had an itinerary that included meetings with high level government and business leaders in both Moscow and Togliatti (Flint's sister city).

  • Institutional Review Board Gains Accreditation

    The University of Michigan's Human Research Protection Program, which UM-Flint's Institutional Review Board (IRB) is an integral part, was recently granted full accreditation by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). AAHRPP is a nationally recognized, nonprofit organization comprised of physicians, social and biological scientists, and attorneys. Marianne McGrath, chair, has worked for over three years to prepare the IRB for accreditation by improving board procedures and by offering education on ethical research practice to faculty, staff and students across campus.

     

  • International Winter Festival Photos

    Hundreds of students joined in the fun for the first UM-Flint International Winter Festival held December 10 in the University Center. Over 3500 cookies were consumed.

     

  • Life Saving Technology Hangs on the Wall

    Staff at the University of Michigan-Flint Recreation Center receives a variety of training, and much of it is aimed at saving a life. Recently, the training Chris Clolinger, who is the assistant director of intramural sports, received on the AED (Automated External Defibrillator) helped save the life of a Rec Center member.

     

  • UM-Flint / UM-AA Guaranteed Engineering Transfer Program

    Two colleges of the University of Michigan, one on the Flint campus, the other in Ann Arbor, have formed a partnership to foster success among promising students by increasing the number of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) degrees granted by both institutions to non-traditional students.
