Officer Friendly Day built community and understanding between local law enforcement and people with autism and their families.

Now in its third year, the University of Michigan-Flint's May 4 Officer Friendly Day offered local law enforcement officers yet another opportunity to enhance their skills in serving people with autism in the community. The annual event featured free food, police vehicle tours, story time with officers and the opportunity to build an understanding community between individuals with autism, their families and law enforcement. New this year were games and activities geared toward adolescents and adults with autism and the opportunity for parents with children on the spectrum to experience a simulated traffic stop.
