The University of Michigan-Flint is hosting a series of events for its annual Sexual Assault Awareness Weeks.

The events, this week, and next, "highlight the issues of sexual assault, and promote awareness, bystander intervention and comprehensive services to survivors," said Molly Barnard, a university sexual assault awareness and prevention advocate in the Women's Education Center (WEC). The program of events are sponsored by the WEC and Student Government.

"UM-Flint has made a commitment to highlight the issue of sexual assault and create a campus culture that is respectful, safe, and consent-based," said Chancellor Susan E. Borrego. "Sexual assault is not just an individual issue; it is a community issue that we must tackle together. The #ItsOnUs campaign challenges us to stop sexual assault and I'm hoping you will join your Student Government and the Women's Education Center at one or more of the events during the next two weeks."
