The Hockey Club is donating a total of $1850 to three local charities. The money is the gate receipts from a recent tournament the club sponsored at Iceland Arena. Last year, the club raised over a $1000 and presented it to a family whose son was injured in a hockey game.

This year the money will be go to the American Red Cross, Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, and Hockey Has Heart (A charity that helps hockey families in need). Each organization will receive a $617 check.

The tournament had teams from Detroit mercy, Delta, Kettering and Jackson Community College. Kettering won the tournament, defeating Delta.

Golling, who also sponsors the Hockey Club, said he is pleased with the teams finish for this season with a 22-10-3 record. Golling believes it speaks well for next year when the club hopes to add even stronger players.
