The University of Michigan-Flint School of Management (SOM) continues to build its global relationships with a new agreement in the Republic of Kosovo. It is with the University of Prishtina, a leading academic institution with over 10,000 students and approximately 700 faculty members.

The university has undergraduate and graduate level business programs in Accountancy, Financial Management, Business Studies, and Management Studies.

The agreement is intended to facilitate exchanges and cooperative initiatives between the two universities in the areas of instruction, faculty and student exchange, credit transfer, applied research, and faculty development.

UM-Flint's Seyed Mehdian, Ph.D., who is a professor of finance and Fulbright Scholar, helped reach this agreement with assistance from Myrvete Badivuku, a professor at Prishtina. Yener Kandogan, associate dean in the SOM, helps to draft and implement such agreements. Kandogan is also a faculty associate at the Center for Russian and East European Studies-International Institute at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

"I'm proud of our ongoing efforts to build strong relationships with some of the top universities around the globe," said SOM Dean John Helmut "By pursuing these agreements, we provide more opportunities for our students to further expand their international business education. Our program is rapidly becoming one of the premier international business programs in Michigan."

This agreement adds to the SOM's international efforts in East Europe. The school also has similar international collaborative agreements with institutions in Croatia, Romania, Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
