School of Management partners with top Romanian University

The University of Michigan-Flint School of Management (SOM) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the leading Romanian University, Universitatea Alexandru Ioan Cuza (UAIC), to facilitate exchanges and cooperative initiatives with the UM-Flint in areas of instruction, faculty and student exchange, applied research and faculty development. Our domestic students are already benefiting tremendously from the presence of international students on campus who are here as a result of our other agreements with institutions in India, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. This agreement is the first step in eventually bringing students from an emerging East European country with their own perspectives on business issues," said SOM Associate Dean Yener Kandogan. "Students not only learn from each other, but also get an opportunity to build lasting friendship and expand their professional network to emerging countries, which is very important in this globalizing economy.The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University is the oldest higher education institution in Romania. With over 36,000 students and 900 academic staff, UAIC enjoys a high prestige at both the national and international level. For the second year in a row, it has placed first in the national research ranking. Dr. Seyed Mehdian of the University of Michigan-Flint, and Dr. Ovidiu Stoica of UAIC collaborated in reaching to this agreement.
