The Campus News Digest (CND) features announcements, news, and event updates relevant to the UM-Flint campus. The CND is distributed every two weeks in the UM-Flint NOW newsletter coordinated by University Communications & Marketing (UCOM).

Greater Flint Community Leadership Scholarship winners announced

The Office of Graduate Programs has announced the two winners of the Greater Flint Community Leadership Scholarship as Fabian Haywood, Community Clerkship Administrator for the University Affiliated Hospitals (MSU) and Becky Gaskin, Executive Director of the Hagerman Foundation.

The awards are presented to newly-admitted Master's degree students who reside in the city and are committed to becoming leaders in the Flint and Genesee County region.

The scholarship will cover the costs of up to two consecutive, full academic years of tuition and mandatory fees.

Updates needed for Campus Directory

Printing Services is requesting help to update the campus directory. If there has been a change to your department name, location, and/or phone number, please email updates to Tamela Harris at [email protected] by July 31.

Save the Date: Academic Affairs Convocation

The Office of the Provost announced that this year's Academic Affairs Convocation will be held on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 2 p.m. Chancellor-elect Dutta's Welcome Back BBQ will be held directly afterward at the UM-Flint Ice Rink.

Games on the Grass Jul. 18

MHealthy is hosting "Games on the Grass" on Jul. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the lawn behind the Recreation Center. Come enjoy games such as spikeball, kan jam, cornhole, ladderball, Jenga, and more. All faculty and staff are invited to attend. Attendees are encouraged to bring lunch. Water is provided.
