The University of Michigan-Flint will observe the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 16.

Each year, the Office of Educational Opportunity Initiatives Diversity Education Services, along with the Office of Student Life, coordinate events to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. King.

This year, 16 community agencies in Flint and Genesee County will open their doors to UM-Flint students who want to volunteer to work on a variety of needed projects.

A breakfast will be served beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Michigan Rooms of the University Center where volunteers will have the opportunity to check-in and pick up a t-shirt.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the annual Blood Drive will be held in the Happenings Room.

For more information, call Diversity Education Services at (810) 762-3169, or the Office of Student Life at (810) 762-3431.
