  • Gift Helps Fund Medical Research at UM-Flint

    A new medical research laboratory will be dedicated at the University of Michigan-Flint on Thursday, January 31, 3 p.m., Room 283 Murchie Science Building. The Dr. Ben F. Bryer Medical Research laboratory is being dedicated in recognition of a gift for medical research from the Ben F. Bryer Foundation.

    The Financial Aid Office of the University of Michigan-Flint will help college-bound students and their families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA during the College Goal Sunday event on Sunday, February 10, 2008.

     
  • "Go Red" for Good Health

    Flint area women are being offered a FREE health screening at the University of Michigan-Flint. On Monday, February 18, a Health Fair and "Go Red" for women's heart health luncheon will be held in the Harding Mott University Center from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

     
  • UM-Flint's Big Sweep at 2008 ADDY Awards

    University of Michigan-Flint COM/ART students picked up 10 student ADDYs at the recent annual awards presentation. The students claimed four Gold and six Silver awards. The Office of University Relations picked up five awards. The annual adverting awards are sponsored by FAAF (Flint Area Advertising Federation).

     
  • UM-Flint Students Join Efforts to Create University Ave.

    There is a major drive to rename the street that connects Kettering University to the University of Michigan-Flint. The two schools, along with the City of Flint, and Metro Housing Partnership, Inc.are working together on the formal re-naming of Third Avenue to "University Avenue."

     
  • 41st Annual Math Field Day Challenges High School Students

    The 41st Annual Math Field Day will take place Tuesday, February 26 on the University of Michigan-Flint campus. High school students will compete in individual and team competitions that test their mathematical skills.

     
  • Two Rec Center Employees to Receive "Everyday Heroes" Award

    Two University of Michigan-Flint Recreation Center employees have been selected to receive the American Red Cross Salute to Everyday Heroes Workplace Good Samaritan award. Each year, the Red Cross solicits nominations from the community in order to honor those individuals who have shown exceptional courage, kindness, and unselfish character by their acts of heroism.

     
  • IRS Criminal Investigation Unit at SOM

    University of Michigan-Flint accounting students recently got a visit from the IRS criminal investigations unit. The Internal Revenue Agents were invited to share their investigative activities with students by Beta Alpha Psi, the honors organization for financial information professionals.

     
  • UM-Flint Adds New Emergency Notification Alert System

    Students, faculty and staff at the University of Michigan-Flint now can register to receive voice and text messages during major emergencies on campus with the addition of a new emergency notification alert system.
