UM-Flint recognized among 2026 Best Colleges by Princeton Review

The Princeton Review recognized the University of Michigan-Flint on its "Best Midwestern" list as part of its "2026 Best Colleges: Region by Region" guide. UM-Flint is one of just 151 universities that earned the distinction of "regional best" by the Princeton Review editors. Schools are grouped into seven zones – Northeast, South, Southwest, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic West and International.

The Review's rankings are based on student surveys on various categories, including academics, campus life, housing and activities, student services, and sports and athletics.
"The colleges we profile in our 'Best Colleges' book are a truly select group. They constitute only about 15% of America's nearly 2,400 four-year institutions," Rob Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review and the book's lead author, said in a statement. "While they vary by locale, type, size, and campus culture, each one offers its students an academically outstanding undergraduate education."
The Midwest region, in which UM-Flint is placed, consists of 12 states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The schools in each region are listed in alphabetical order by school name, not by ranking.
The Princeton Review is a tutoring, test prep and college admission services company and is not affiliated with Princeton University. The complete listing of the "Best Midwest" institutions is available on the Princeton Review website.
