The Flint art community came together May 10 to celebrate printmaking on large and unique scales. Curated and produced by Flint Artist in Residence Janice McCoy, the event showcased the design work artists throughout the region have carved into plywood using various techniques, including traditional hand tools and precision laser cutting. During the event, the artists collaborated to apply black ink to the blocks and then prepared them for press on muslin under the force of a steamroller. Attendees could also get a free, custom-printed souvenir tote and learn about other art and creative activities in the Flint community. The prints will be displayed in McCoy's upcoming exhibition "Off the Block: 5.10.25," opening at Riverbank Arts during the Flint Art Walk June 13 and running through the summer.
