UM-Flint Celebrates Campus Spirit
Campus spirit takes center stage this week at UM-Flint.
The university, through Student Involvement and Leadership, is hosting Fall Fun Fest on Saturday, October 22, with a full slate of activities for the university community including a DJ, food, video games, a screening of the homecoming football game versus Illinois, and more. The fest is family friendly, and students and other university members are encouraged to bring their children.
"It is a great opportunity for our campus, especially our students to come together as a community, to meet up with friends, make new friends, and support the football team!," said Dr. Michelle Rosynsky, senior director of Student Involvement and Leadership. "The day will be capped off by a Roller Rave Party, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Recreation Center."
The Fall Fun Fest starts off at 1:30 p.m. in McKinnon Plaza, with the game being screen in the Kiva at 3:30 p.m. The Roller Rave is a roller skate party, with a DJ, designated dance floor and other attractions. The roller skate event is open to everyone, including all university members with a valid MCard and community members with a state-issued ID.
Leading up to Saturday, Student Involvement and Leadership is hosting Crazy Super Fan Swag Day Thursday, October 20. The UM-Flint community is encouraged to dress up in school gear, and to decorate their offices, doors, windows and work areas in Maize and Blue. The campus spirit may even pay off with a $25 Amazon gift card Thursday by stopping by Student Organization Loft on the third floor of the University Center to enter a raffle and get a photo taken.
Both Thursday and Saturday are designed to celebrate and suit the full range of students and other university members, including residential students, those who commute, and those with families.
