300 students now call campus home

What began as a dream became a reality for the University of Michigan-Flint when 300 students moved into the first residence hall on the Flint campus on August 24. On hand to mark the historic day and help the incoming freshmen unpack their vehicles was

UM-Flint's new chancellor, Dr. Ruth J. Person. Her appointment to the position was effective August 18. "This is history in the making for this campus, and I'm happy to be part of it," said Chancellor Person. "We had over 200 volunteers help with move-in and I appreciate the help."

An official opening ceremony for the First Street Residence Hall will take place September 8. The student come from across the state ,and from such diverse areas as: Ohio, Texas, Washington D.C., Canada, China, Taiwan, South Korea and India.
