University of Michigan-Flint students, faculty and staff honored the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. by participating in a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the Flint community during its annual Day of Service, Jan. 19, which coincides with the federal holiday celebrating the former clergyman and civil rights leader. Following an on-campus celebratory breakfast, volunteers set out to assist Carriage Town Ministries, Job Corps, United Way, Crossover Downtown Outreach Ministry and others through engaged citizenship.
