(SIMULATED) CRASH COURSE
Sirens blared and a staged car crash set the scene June 24 inside the William S. White Building as local first responders, including UM-Flint's Department of Public Safety and the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, led participants in the College of Health Sciences' "Exploring Health Careers" summer camp through a simulated emergency call. The exercise wasn't just for show. Students wrapped wounds, rushed "patients" to waiting ambulances, and stepped into the role of first responders. The hands-on experience gave attendees a powerful look at the challenges and teamwork that define careers in health care—photos by Stephanie VanWagoner, Office of Marketing and Communications.
