She is wearing a navy blue t-shirt with the word "Michigan" in bold yellow letters above a large yellow "M," indicating the University of Michigan. In front of her is a large desktop monitor with a computer tower and keyboard partially visible. The setting appears to be an office or classroom with neutral walls and additional workstations in the background.
The University of Michigan-Flint's School of Management is hosting a series of webinars this summer to help prospective students learn more about the school's undergraduate and graduate degree offerings.

The University of Michigan-Flint's School of Management will offer six free, one-hour webinars May 27-June 12 that will allow attendees to discover how they can earn bachelor's or master's degrees in various in-demand business fields.

Prospective students who attend the sessions can ask questions directly of SOM's expert faculty. According to the College Board, an independent nonprofit, this form of research helps students obtain personalized information regarding how potential degree programs can help them meet their goals. This information allows students to narrow their choices and ultimately decide what college to attend.

SOM's first webinar will feature its Bachelor of Business Administration program. Taking place from 5-6 p.m., May 27, the virtual event will share how UM-Flint's BBA program is uniquely suited to prepare students for the rapidly changing world of business and education. Examples include:

  • Eight different majors, including accounting, finance and marketing.
  • Flexible learning modalities, like part- and full-time options and in-person, online and hybrid study.
  • New teaching innovations, like independent or "fully online" learning and accelerated learning.
  • Dedicated support staff, offering career development, co-curricular activities and more.

U.S. News & World Report has ranked UM-Flint's online BBA program No. 1 among Michigan universities for five straight years. It also ranks No. 41 in the nation among all business schools offering online programs.

The school's next BBA webinar is scheduled for July 8. The deadline to apply for fall semester admission is Aug. 24.

Other webinars will feature the school's five master's programs. They include:

  • Master of Business Administration, 6-6:30 p.m., May 27.
  • MS in accounting, 6-6:30 p.m., May 28.
  • MS in supply chain management, 6-6:30 p.m., May 31.
  • MS in applied finance, 6-6:30 p.m., June 3.
  • MS in leadership and organizational dynamics, 6-6:30 p.m., June 12.

CEO Magazine recently ranked UM-Flint's online MBA program No. 34 in North America and No. 61 worldwide. Together, these achievements place it in the publication's Tier-1 category.

Those who participate in a master's program webinar will receive an application fee waiver, valued at $55. The waiver allows attendees to apply for free. Hosts will discuss graduate students' application deadlines during each webinar, as these vary by program.

"We are making these webinars available to connect students with faculty members teaching in our programs," said Yener Kandogan, SOM interim dean. "This means that potential students can ask questions about the program to those who have developed the program and are teaching students already in the program. Then, they can make a more informed decision about the program's suitability for their needs."

There are three ways to register for a webinar:

Those unable to attend can also request a private meeting. Both in-person and online meeting options are available. Virtual tours of UM-Flint's campus are also available on demand.
