UM-Flint Forms Another China Connection
The University of Michigan-Flint recently hosted officials from Liaoning University in Shenyang, China to discuss how the two schools might work together in the future.
UM-Flint Associate Provost for Academic Affairs Vahid Lotfi and President Wei Cheng signed a general Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and opened discussions of possible collaborations at an academic level. Future agreements could include student and faculty exchange.
Liaoning University representatives were from the Business School, College of History and Culture, Labor Unit, and the International Exchange & Cooperation Department.
In May of 2009, representatives of Ningbo Institute of Technology (NIT) signed an agreement that will facilitate future cooperation between the two schools. NIT is a regional campus of the Zhejiang University which is one of the major universities in China. There are over 10,000 students in six schools.
