Officer Friendly Day was back for year five on May 9, and the impact keeps getting bigger. What started in Flint is now drawing attention across the country as a model for strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the autism community. Through interactive experiences, thoughtful programming and plenty of moments of joy, families and officers connected in ways that go beyond the badge. It was a day built on trust, understanding and shared experience. Photos by Stephanie VanWagoner, Office of Marketing and Communications.
