In 2018, UM-Flint's Department of Public Safety was the first college/university police department in the state to become accredited by the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission. The recognition speaks to the department's ongoing voluntary pursuit of achieving the highest standards in law enforcement and community service.
