Meet the new boss (Photo gallery)

University of Michigan-Flint faculty, staff, students and Mayor Sheldon Neeley gathered in the Grand Ballroom of the Northbank Center, May 17, to meet and greet Chancellor-Elect Laurence Alexander. Alexander, who was approved as UM-Flint's next permanent chancellor by the University of Michigan Board of Regents at its May 16 meeting, has served as chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for the past 11 years. His five-year appointment at UM-Flint will begin July 1.
