University crews are working this summer on several under-the-radar projects.

Crews are leveling out and smoothing the steps in McKinnon Plaza, and outside the University Theatre. The plaza steps are receiving a slip-resistant coating, while the stairwells in the Mill Street Parking Deck are also being leveled. There are structural repairs being made to the upper levels of the parking ramp.

"We have continued to focus on keeping campus infrastructure safe, and taking preventative steps to improve the longevity of the buildings and the campus overall, said George Hakim, director of Facilities and Operations.

"We pinpointed what needs to be fixed within the stairwells and are completing those repairs before school starts in the fall," said Tim Barden, assistant director of Facilities and Operations.  The brick façade on French Hall is also being replaced this summer, as are several brick ledges around campus.
