“We hear stories all the time about how these dollars go a long way to encourage a student to pursue a degree at the university.”

To ensure that University of Michigan-Flint students have every opportunity to experience the highest quality of education through research, international experiences, and internships, the faculty and staff are being asked to support the Annual Giving campaign.

An annual fund, sometimes called an Enrichment Fund, is the fund designated by the campus to procure unrestricted gifts for the unit.  Gifts free of restrictions give deans and chancellors a reliable, flexible supply of funds that enable the unit to place resources where they are most immediately needed or where opportunities are greatest.  Common uses of unrestricted funds include student aid, faculty support, emergency renovations, new academic initiatives, research assistance, and the purchase of books, collections, supplies, and equipment.

"Your gift can be designated for most any purpose including specific support  for activities in a particular department, and gifts of all sizes are important," said Scott Bertschy, executive director of Development and Alumni Relations. "We hear stories all the time about how these dollars go a long way to encourage a student to pursue a degree at the university."

To make a gift to the Faculty and Staff Annual Giving initiative, please mail your gift to: Development and Alumni Relations, Attn: Annual Giving, 303 East Kearsley Street, Flint, MI 48502-1950.  If you have any questions regarding a funding opportunity, please contact Sandra Johnson at (810) 424-5488 or by email at [email protected].

A Campaign Wrap Up will be held Tuesday, May 3 in the Michigan Rooms, 2-4 p.m.
