The University of Michigan-Flint is expecting to set a new record for enrollment in fall 2010 for the fourth consecutive year. Being the fastest-growing state university also means expanding programs and faculty to meet the demands of the new growth.

At the Academic Affairs Convocation held on September 1, the university welcomed 26 new faculty members.  More than half are new positions needed because of the continued growth.

"We are truly excited to be welcoming one of the largest groups of new faculty to our campus in our 54-year history," said Vahid Lotfi. "They will complement our planning efforts as we prepare for the future, and partially assist in meeting the changes needed for our new growth."

School of Health Professions and Studies (SHPS) is welcoming five faculty, School of Management (SOM) will introduce four, and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) has a list of 17, four are lecturer positions.
