UM-Flint to Offer Special Help to Unemployed or Underemployed

The University of Michigan-Flint is hosting a special, day-long event to help folks in need of getting their career back on track. “I’m Laid Off, NOW WHAT?” is a program that will present a rare opportunity to meet with career experts for FREE to learn the most effective career planning, and job search techniques. It will be held Wednesday, March 3, from, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 111, French Hall.

"I'm Laid Off, NOW WHAT?" is a program that will present a rare opportunity to meet with career experts for FREE to learn the most effective career planning, and job search techniques. It will be held Wednesday, March 3, from, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Room 111, French Hall.

Pre-registration is required, and attendance is limited to 120.

Participants will receive FREE access to a licensed online career planning system, and an interview practice program. Representatives from the Unemployment Insurance Agency and UM-Flint Admissions Office will be on site to answer questions.

a closer look at the career planning process and creating a plan

Networking 101-How to start building your network today and open doors for tomorrow

Interviewing 101-A review of basic interview techniques and important preparation strategies

Resumes- A UM-Flint professor will provide the nuts and bolts of writing a winning resume
