A Concert with a Twist and a Tweet
The University of Michigan-Flint Jazz Ensemble is encouraging the use of social media at its up-coming concert on Wednesday, December 9, at 7:30 PM in the University Theatre.
This concert will have the added feature of "Twittering" during the program. Interested members of the audience are encouraged to bring a laptop computer or web browser so that they may Tweet during the concert their questions, comments or dialogue about the music.

December 2009 Commencement Update
The Winter 2009 Commencement Ceremony for the University of Michigan-Flint will be held on December 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the Perani Arena and Event Center . About 300 students are expected to participate in the ceremony.

UM-Flint Students Selected for Special Scholarships
Four University of Michigan -Flint students have been selected to each receive a $1,000 scholarship as part of an effort to promote higher education within the Hispanic Community.

Veterans Day 2009
The University of Michigan-Flint marked Veterans Day 2009 with its 11th Annual Remembrance Ceremony held in the morning, and the dedication of a new Student Veterans Resource Center.

UM-Flint's Part-Time MBA Program Ranked 9th in Midwest & 41st in Nation
The University of Michigan-Flint's MBA program has been ranked among the top 10 part-time MBA programs in the Midwest by BusinessWeek. The magazine's latest rankings released on November 5, 2009, also places UM-Flint 41st nationally among part-time MBA programs.

UM-Flint Physical Therapy Department Enrollment Expansion
The University of Michigan-Flint will substantially increase enrollment in its Physical Therapy Program (DPT). This move comes at a time when the nation is seeing a shortage of physical therapists. The expansion of the DPT Program will allow enrollment to increase by 50%. In the past, only 40 students per year could be accepted. The program is now planning to increase admittance to 60 students annually beginning in fall 2010.

Veterans Day at UM-Flint Highlighted by Opening of Student Veterans Center
The traditional morning Remembrance Ceremony and the afternoon dedication of a new center for student veterans are all part of University of Michigan-Flint's 2009 observance of Veterans Day.
The 11th annual Veterans Day Remembrance Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 11, in the Michigan Rooms (University Center). A light breakfast will be available beginning at 9 a.m. The program will begin promptly at 9:30.
